Astronaut Scott Parazynski and the IMG climbing team have left Everest Base Camp and are now at Camp 2 – on their way to the summit of the tallest mountain on the planet. If he succeeds in “topping off,” he will become the first person to fly in space who has reached such lofty heights as a mountaineer. Scott’s sidekick (and media sherpa) Keith Cowing remains at Base Camp – listening to the radios. He will keep us posted on Scott’s progress. Tense, tough days ahead for the climbers – and for those of us rooting for them. This is dangerous business. You can read Scott’s blog here. and you can follow his tracks to the top of the world at the SPOT Adventures site here.
